Congrats, Ed!

Was it 'Bite the bullet' tournament? ;)

Ha! Sheesh. My life is confusion.

Reporting a major victory for the Allies (Ivan the Big) over the Axis (Joaquin) in A Baptism of Fire.Sharpen Axe

Ivan the Big stands ready for his next assignment:smoke2:
Hi

Minor victory for the Axis vs Oberst in Bouganville.

Ready for the next scenario.

Ernst
We need some Axis members. In the last few weeks we have had several Axis member vanish without trace. We are now short on the Axis team by at least 3 members.

Please note The Blitz Rules: https://www.theblitz.club/rules_of_engag...Game/rid=9

It's EXTREMELY RUDE and ANNOYING to vanish without a trace. Please show some consideration to your fellow wargamers! A game discontinued without mutual consent is considered a VICTORY of the highest order UNLESS other terms are first negotiated. Do not just disappear!!

If you are going out of town please make arrangements with your opponent to surrender, or suspend the game until your return. If you are knocked off line for an extended period, use a computer at a friends house, the library, the coffee shop, or at work to let your opponent, the Ladder Commander, or some other member of the club know you are having difficulties. Your games can then be suspended temporarily without consequence.

If you simply disappear for more than 3 weeks, your opponent is awarded the highest victory possible, if they choose to report it.
Prior to claiming a game based on Rule # 9 the following information MUST be presented to the Ladder Commander and /or the Assistant Ladder Commander in charge.

Gather your facts; here is a list of info that will be needed.
Is this player a member of the Blitz? What is his handle and Email?
When was last contact?
When did you last request a file from him?
Did you post on the MB for this player to return a file?
Can you provide some copies of these attempts in your Email?

Email your Opponent and CC the Ladder Commander with the following message.
State that you are interested in finishing this game and if your opponent does not respond with his turn in a timely manner that you will claim a victory of the highest level as per the club rules when opponents abandon games.
Present your opponent an opportunity to negotiate an agreeable result if you want, this could help get the desired result you are looking for. Do include dates and detail your attempts to contact this person.

IF the Ladder Commander has documentation that backs up your story and your opponent fails to present the Commander with contradictory evidence of his attempts to continue the match, the Ladder Commander will enforce the rules set forth in section #9 of the Rules of Engagement and award you a victory for the game.

Please do not report discontinued games without informing the Ladder Commander.

If the MIA opponent chooses to contest this action, then the Ladder Commander will deal with him personally there after.
I would like to add that the spirit of this tournament was so that should someone vanish the team he was in would be responsible for providing a replacement within the said three weeks. Only if the team is unable to continue the scenario where their member went AWOL should the scenario deemed as Major Victory for the other side.

Hence the common passwords etc.

On another note, do we want to change the optional rules for 1944 (which has already started)?

EA tends to split opinions, so as 1943 was with EA off the next round of 1944 perhaps could be with EA on? :military smile:

Ok, from now on if someone vanishes I will post on this thread for replacements. As for the EA thing - if there are any objections or requests to keep it as is - post here.

And yes, 1944 has started - if you go back in the thread you will see that we no longer wait for a year to end before starting the next year - we just carry on moving up the dateline. We ended up waiting for weeks for the year to end so this was a better alternative.
