Ok here is one for you.........I was the son of a prime minister, I was an influential force for peace for seven years, only the second man to hold this post, but alas my life was cut short in a plane crash
You are Dag Hammarskjöld, the second Secretary-General of the United Nations.

The next one from me:
"Like mr. Timur Lenk mentioned before I was a muslim too. However I was a liberal muslim; during my reign I significantly secularized and modernized my country: women got the right to vote, drinking alcohol was allowed and e.g. Islamic canon law was replaced with a secular civil code modeled after the Swiss Civil Code. The parliament even gave me a honorary name that implies I´m the father of all people living in my country."

Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, the last Shah of Iran?
Good thinking there actually, but this time you have to go west :)
HiHi

Pz, an amazingly astute guess (as you will see when his identity is discovered), but sorry wrong, there is a conection between the two though, so obviously the right era, try again :-)

Yes Mustafa Kemal Atatürk is the correct answer!

The answer for your question is truly tough to solve, but I think it has to be Tristan da Cunha :chin:

HiHi

Sorry Pz, not correct, and coz I'm mean, rotton, nasty and stuff :stir: I'll leave you with a cryptic clue, I said there was a connection between James Cook and the "Who am I" well, James Cook when he was hungry may well have said "I could die for a ... ", in fact, he did die on one. :)

Catch you tommorrow.

Damn, I´ve trying to put your hints together, but after all my answers do not make sense.

Cook islands was at first a pure guess, I thought it would fit well with that catering thing...

I thought Tristan da Cunha was a smart answer since Tristan seems to be a major catering company and the era when the man with this name found the islands was roughly the same as of Cooks.

Now thinking these new clues make me confused. First I thought of Cayman islands, if mr. Cook would have been starving he might have thought eating this creature related to crocodile. But Cayman islands were found by Sir Francis Drake in 16th century so he was not a contemporary of Cook (btw why are these islands called Cayman islands? IMO Gayman islands would be a lot catchier name :P) ....then I thought of Virgin islands, but I hope this explorer of yours was neither a cannibal nor a virgin. In addition Virgin islands seem to be under direct British/US administration.

:conf:

Cheers,
Ari
