RE: Best played as ...
These are the Valmy scenarios and descriptions from version 1.01

001. The Battle of Valmy

20 September 1792 - Historical - Intended to be played Head to Head - This is the historical battle of Valmy. For a historical overview see "RBR_Battles.pdf" found in the main game folder. NOTE: This battle has been added more for historical purposes and is heavily balanced in favor of the French player. The Allied formations will FIX during the battle reflecting the Duke of Brunswick's hesitancy to commit his army to a battle. We highly recommend that you play one of the many Variants for the Battle of Valmy for a more enjoyable experience.

002. The Battle of Valmy

20 September 1792 - Historical - Intended to be played SOLO as the Allied player -This is the historical battle of Valmy. For a historical overview see "RBR_Battles.pdf" found in the main game folder. NOTE: The Allied formations will FIX during the battle reflecting the Duke of Brunswick's hesitancy to commit his army to a battle.

003. The Battle of Valmy: Unleashed!

20 September 1792 - Variant - Intended to be played Head to Head - In this version of the famous battle neither side has fixed units. This will result in a much more interesting battle for both sides. The Allies will still need to attack to take key objectives in order to win.

004. The Battle of Valmy: Meeting Engagement

20 September 1792 - Variant - Intended to be played Head to Head - The French are late to block the Allies. Only a small Advance Guard brigade of approximately 2000 men of Kellerman's Armee de Centre is available to delay the advance elements of the Prussian Advance Guard until more French reinforcements can arrive. Control of the main road and hilltop objectives is vital for the Prussians. Dumouriez's army arrives in the north. Should they march south or continue on the main road and then attack the Allied flank? The Allies are working against time in this battle.

005. The Battle of Valmy: French Attack!

20 September 1792 - Variant - Intended to be played Head to Head - In this version of the battle the Allies have claimed the high ground and the French must defeat them in order to gain their important victory. Some of the French formations are slow to get started thus resulting in a delayed attack.

006. Valmy: Into the Valley of Death!

20 September 1792 - Historical - Intended to be played Head to Head - Following the mutual bombardment by the French and Prussian batteries, the Advance Guard started forward to the French main position. Artillery fire soon struck the Prussian battalions. Before it could become a bloodbath Brunswick wisely called off the attack. This scenario allows the players to see what could have happened had the attack continued. Note: the Prussians were probably advancing in line formation but for sake of playability I have deployed them in column. Both sides have about the same amount of forces.

007. Valmy: Into the Valley of Death!

20 September 1792 - Historical - Intended to be played Solo as the Allied player - Following the mutual bombardment by the French and Prussian batteries, the Advance Guard started forward to the French main position.

008. Valmy: Prussians Reinforced!

20 September 1792 - Variant - Intended to be played Head to Head - In this version of the Valmy assault scenario the Prussians are reinforced by an infantry and cavalry brigade resulting in a more difficult challenge for the French player.

009. Valmy: French Reinforced!

20 September 1792 - Variant - Intended to be played Head to Head - In this version of the Valmy assault scenario the French army is reinforced by a cavalry and infantry brigade from the right flank.

Valmy description from RBR_Battles.pdf

The Allies (Prussians, Austrians and Royalist French) had penetrated the Argonnes
Forest and were advancing on Paris. General Dumeriez was ordered to move his
Armée du Nord southeast to block the move but the Allies slipped through the net.
Dumeriez then rendezvoused with General Kellerman (the elder) who commanded the
Armee de Centre east of the Allies thus blocking their lines of communication. They
then marched west towards Valmy and halted on September 19 east of the village on
a series of ridges. The next day the French forces took up positions on the ridges to
the north and west of Valmy with part of the Armée du Nord in reserve. The battle
was really more of a bombardment by both sides. The French had surperior artillery
quality and some of the Prussian guns were put out of action. The Prussian followed
up with a weak advance but the losses from the French artillery halted the attack. The
Duke of Brunswick was very hesitant to commit his army to a battle. All of this led to
the Prussians halting their assault for the day and retreating to the north on the next
day followed by a retreat to the east. The campaign had been prone to terrible
weather. Historical note: The Battle of Valmy was the first victory by the French
Republican forces in a major battle. It helped consolidate their hold on France. The
Allies must attack and defeat the French in order to avoid not only a battlefield loss
but a large spike in French national morale.

RE: Best played as ...
Thanks ! Cool. I don't think I have such a document in my folder ...

The problem is that other variants of Valmy are HTH, which sends back to my initial question ... According to what I read here, they might not be envoyable in solo.
