RE: Mius '43 Gold
I love the new look that WDS created showing highlighted units.  Very user friendly!   Thumbs Up

Agreed.  I always had a hard time picking out the highlighted units with just the red or white border.

Its great on the biggest zoom but I strugle a little bit on the normal zoom. I use an old 15" square type LCD and run 1280 x 1024 resolution. I'll maybe check the brightness/contrast to see if this helps.

RE: Mius '43 Gold
Someone mentioned in a thread that the colours of Trenches/Bunkers is difficult to differentiate? I agree and I think they will have to be modded slightly.

In the Mius 43 demo I eventually noticed that one of the German front line hexes was not a Bunker or BUNKER but a TRENCH. Now a BUNKER and TRENCH both give a -20% protection but being in a BUNKER means that you are safe from soft attack factors.

Here is the unfortunate 1st Company of the Reconnaissance Bn of 336th Division sitting in a TRENCH at Berestavo. As usual the Soviets appear to have found the vulnerable seam of two German Divisions and are about to exploit it.

I think any sensible Russian player will ensure that the 1st Company is easily disrupted by his artillery and the 3 Rifle Bn's of 127th Rifle Division opposite will quickly be in the hex. Of course he will then have two hexes of good quality units in BUNKERS to deal with but he is prepared as there is a Guard Tank Regimet on hand for bunker busting I see.

It will still be a tough slog but thats the nature of this battle I guess.

RE: Mius '43 Gold
Are the recommended optional rules the ones suggested by the game?

Or different ones like in Smolensk'41 Gold?
