Mius '43 Gold
Hi All,

Like a Soviet juggernaut, the releases continue.

For anyone on the fence re, the Gold releases, we have updated the free Mius '43 Demo to the new Gold standard.

You can get it here;
http://www.johntillersoftware.com/

Or if having connectivity issues, here;
http://jtsmirror.com/

Just go to the Demo's page.

RE: Mius '43 Gold
Very very nice. Two quick things I noticed while scrolling around the map.

I think this unit should be Fixed like the rest of its Bde/Corps.

The 5th Sep Engineers are missing a graphic? Unit shows as a Guards unit but it doesn't have Guards in its designation?

RE: Mius '43 Gold
Ian,

Thank you. I have worked out these issues and have corrected.

I'm away currently and can't get a new build up for a week but will do that as soon as I can.

I'll post here when available.

Thanks for your work, guys!

PS: Not a big issue, but would be cool to have area boundaries and Labels settings auto-saved on game exit

Graphical icon units in 2d zoomed in view are extremely blurry. 3D view with the Graphic icons are very small and hard to see even on my 40" monitor.

Hi there,

You're right and that's the reason we hadn't included it previously. We only have a 20 pixel vs 20 pixel area to work with and that is really limiting.

In Panzer Battles and now American Civil War we have a 'natural' zoom where there is a native graphics level. Unfortunately in PzC that is not available and the existing graphics are just magnified - resulting in a blurry image.

I'll continue to work these over time to get the best compromise (the previous iteration was all black stick figures) and will share here the results.

You guys do amazing work and keep these games going. I have a hard time with detail at times. My biggest complaint with most is I always seem to need one more zoom in level. Thanks for all your hard work it is appreciated.

Hi Logan,

You know if you have Windows 10 that there is an all screen zoom option under Display Settings?

Great for this age of large high resolution monitors, or us that have slowly fading, age related eyesight!!!

RE: Mius '43 Gold
Still checking over the Mius Demo. I can't find the 2nd Gds Army HQ either on the map at the start or coming on later as a reinforcement? The reinforcements for both sides stop on the 19th July although the battle continues until the 23rd..

Is this intentional in order to reduce the impact of this powerful formation?

RE: Mius '43 Gold
Hi Ian,

This isn't my scenario (Glenn Saunders may pipe up), but looking at the OOB, it's only artillery etc and a few independent formations that don't arrive from 2nd Guards Army.

The major maneuver formations such as the Mech & Rifle Corps are on map.

Quite often when building an OOB we build it before starting the creation of scenarios. It's at that point you realise some formations may never get used in game. We also leave these kind of units in an OOB to give us flexibility to build what-ifs if required.

Hope that helps,

David
