					BUMP!
Everyone, we are nearing the end of the Soviet Invasion of Poland in September 1939. Anyone still wanting to get in for that phase please report in! Now!
Hostilities will soon begin in the far North. Today Nov 26th 2014 marks the 75th anniversary of the staged shelling at Mainila , a border village bw. Finland and USSR.

Killing and wounding several Red Army soldiers, the deed of these White-army bourgeois war mongers will not go unpunished! The stage is becoming set for the beginning of Winter War....

Invasion of Poland 1939 is playing its third and final round (with an incomplete Round 2 but we will revisit it though). Onward it is!
Here's the current situation, from the tournament thread :
Quote:Standings as we speak:Repel the Bolshevik!

 Quote:Major Win = 5 * Size modifierMinor Win = 4 * Size modifier
 Draw	= 3 * Size modifier
 Minor Loss = 2 * Size modifier
 Major Loss = 1 * Size modifier

Round 1: Repel the Bolshevik! - Size Modifier 2

 Completed games:
Ed vs. dawags - Allied Major Win
Juan Manuel vs. Otto von Blotto - Allied Major Win
Boisforas vs. Ivan the Big - Allied Major Win
Ashcloud vs. Chris Merchant - Allied Major Win

All four games ended with Allied Major win. 10 points per Major win (5*2), 2 points per Major loss (1*2)

 Side A: 40 pts
 Side B: 8 pts

Round 2 - Battle of Szack - Size Modifer 1

 Completed games:
Battle Kat vs. dawags - Axis Major Win
Ed vs. Tiger 88 - Allied Major Win

One major win per side. 5*1 pts for a major win, 1*1 for a major loss

 Side A: 6 pts
 Side B: 6 pts

 Total Points

 Side A: 46 pts
 Side B: 14 pts

I am currently playing Wytyczno 1939 as Axis outside the tournament, and have a feeling Axis will be back with vengeance with this scenario. It is SM3, so a Major Win will grant the side 5*3 = 15 pts.

 Stay tuned!
Allied major wins all through. How would you modify the scenario to make it better balanced? Or does it need balancing, was this just some great leadership from the Polish player?
Battle of Szack One major win per side. What is your feeling of that scenario? Only two rounds completed at the moment though, I admit.
Wytyczno 1939 We have a full roster of five games set to start. Yay!
How do you like the early war Poland so far? Worth even more new scenarios?

Discuss!

A call for cannon fodder? That's my specialty!
I can join starting in round 4. My other games should have ended by then so I will have time. To be honest I wanted to join in sooner but totally forgot and filled up my roster. I someone could send me a heads up (or a game) at danr308@gmail when it's time for round 4 I would appreciate it.

Fair warning: I skimmed a few chapters of an exceedingly dense and hard to follow history of the Winter War about ten years ago!

Welcome Sir! I will send you an email once we are ready for Round 4. Plenty of time to finish your book
Round 4 will be the first of the three Winter War rounds, a fun little engagement called Metal Gods . I just finished the third set of mirrored games of it vs Hawk Kriegsman. Most brutal, either side...

Anyone else?

A bit lopsided towards Side A at the moment, but early days still. Let us see if the arrival of Winter War brings changes to the situation

Sure there is! I'll put you on the waiting list. We're using MCS 2.02.
