Hello everyone! I haven't been around much....as Jim noted, just a bit too busy of late on other fronts.

When I logged in tonight, I was really glad to see this thread. These days in December always bring about thoughts of the Bulge, and the men who fought there.

Unfortunately, just four days ago, (ret) Brig Gen Jimmie Leach passed away near his home in South Carolina, at the age of 87. During the Bulge, he was the CO of B/37, 4th AD. It was a tremendous honor for me to have gotten to know Jimmie fairly well the past nine years; he was a tremendous resource when I did my research on "Patton's Vanguard".

And alas, Brig General Albin Irzyk, who was the CO of the 4th's 8th Tank Battalion, is currently hospitalized at the age of 92. Please join me in praying for his recovery.
