Anyone who plays PBEM uses FOW always, it is the single biggest reason/advantage of playing a PC game verses a Board Game

Yes on the volume of dice rolls..............BUT I have to say that sometimes when you absolutely, positively need that die roll to be a certain number, I know I prefer to have fate and divinity coursing through my fingertips as that die or dice leave my hand on their way to the corner of the box top.  For those few milliseconds that they traverse the space between my hand and that box the suspense is palpable and when you make that 1 (or 6 or whatever) there is nothing like it.  "I" made that roll, not a computer generated random number.  That feeling is something a PC can not replace.

Yeah, in the social situation when everyone's in the same room sometimes we're all hanging on that roll.

The only time I play with Fog of War off, is when I'm teaching someone who has never played, how to play, otherwise I always play with it on, this way, the game is more fun and realistic.
