[Obscure hamlet, NW Germany]: [H2H] [FIC] [BB] : The following is a fictional scenario set in North West Germany during 1982. The Soviet advance is now into it's second day and in British I Corps' sector a salient is developing that is exposing British formations to flanking movements by exploiting Soviet formations. While the main Soviet thrust is focused on exploitation, one Soviet Motor Rifle Regiment is tasked with closing off a portion of the flank. On the other hand this same salient provides opportunities for limited counterattacks into already exposed Soviet rear areas. Here, near some relatively unknown hamlets in North West Germany elements of the British 7th Armoured Brigade, 1st Armoured Division, are tasked with holding a key crossing while the elements of the Brigade attempt to conduct a limited counter attack against elements of the 27th Guard Motor Rifle Division. Limited divisional resources are allocated to the operation and British forces are launched forward even while the Soviets advance to exploit recent successes. V1.1

Balance and Enjoyment
Fun scenario, but if you are new to Cold War, remember that as British you must hide your vehicles and in most cases, turn off your op-fire, or you will be shredded.

Victory Conditions
Victory conditions were attainable by both sides; but the British player must remain defensive and keep his vehicles hidden.

Map & Terrain
Map was fine - i would have preferred a slightly larger map, but there's plenty of room for maneuvering.

Historical Introduction
Nothing out of the ordinary - a good read.

Game Length
No problems here.

Force Mix
Interesting toys for both sides; especially the Soviets, who get a huge number of BMP's and BDRM's - loaded with infantry of course.

What I really liked about this scenario
The only battle I have ever played where it was British vs. Soviets. I also enjoyed the new units.

What I really did not like about this scenario
No real negatives here, but I got the impression the British are caught completely off-guard and unprepared. Makes it difficult to set up their defenses.

Victory points total
132

Any other comments
British could use some more infantry; imo, they need to have one company on-board at the start of the game, and an additional company to enter later.

Thus, what is of supreme importance in war is to attack the enemy's strategy.
