June 9, 1942 [Hypothetical] One of the primary causes of the US victory at Midway was the cracking of the IJN's code. When the Japanese showed up at Midway, the US Fleet was ready and waiting. What would have happened if the battle had developed as the IJN had planned? In this scenario, the Japanese have already neutralized Midway Island with minor losses (confined to the air groups). The US Fleet is approaching from the east, but their exact bearing from the island is unknown. Likewise, the Japanese are lurking somewhere to the west of the Island
