21 April 1796 - Variant - Intended for Head to Head play - This scenario is based on a hypothetical meeting of the French army and the army of the Kingdom of Sardinia. Historically, the latter's army was unable to hold together once the French had started turning their flank. They retreated to Mondovi but no actual battle was fought there. What if they had gathered their forces and tried to hold off the French army? Augereau's division arrives to turn the Sardinian left flank. Can Colli's left flank hold?

Allies will have their defensive hands full especially since they don't get any reinforcements.

The Austrians are in an awkward position in the central and south as there are a number of bridges for the French to cross (though most require the French to advance under the Austrian guns). The northern Austrians become quickly outnumbered and have to make a fighting retreat. Time is the Austrian ally if they can delay the French long enough without sacrificing too many VP hexes or men.
