2 May 1813 - Historical - Intended to be played Head to Head - The Allies had spent most of the morning deploying their troops on the heights to the south of Großgörschen. At 11:30am Wittgenstein had them rest for a half hour due to the fatigue of the movement. At 12:00pm he had about 30 guns open up on the village at a range of 800 yards. This fire quickly woke up the French 8th Division and Souham had his men readied for the defense of the village. Setting up a battery to answer the Allied fire they quickly silenced a Prussian battery. After forty minutes of bombardment the Allies withdrew with the loss of 3 guns. After this time Klüx advanced with his brigade on Souham's 2nd brigade holding the village. The assault was furious and achieved its purpose pushing the French back on Kaja. There the 1st Brigade of Souham's division fought valiantly to hold the village which switched hands twice during the fighting. Dolff's cavalry attempted to take the 2nd Brigade in flank as they retreated but a timely fire by French artillery persuaded them to fall back. The fighting would continue throughout the afternoon but this early defense by Ney's surprised troops helped hold important ground. Note: The 10th Division will fix on turn 4. The intent is that they held Starsiedel but did not attempt to aid Souham during the attack. The Prussians can turn on this division if they want but the main intent is for them to try and take Kaja. NOTE: The Brandenberg Brigade does not release in this version of the scenario. It is located on the map mainly for historical purposes.

Allies start out on a Major Defeat. The nearby objective hexes are totally inadequate to make up the difference. French can give up the first set of hexes and withdraw. By the time the Allies can get in a position to take the latter hexes and make up the points difference, the short scenario is over.

The Scenario is pretty biased towards the French. The points distribution means the Allies would have to control all the VPs, plus destroy the majority of the French Army, take few losses in the process, and do it all in a short 14 turns. Hard to see how the Allies can do much better than a minor defeat in most scenarios, unless the French suffer a total catastrophe. Even then, a moderate amount of losses will push the major victory out of reach.
