I think it's tough for the Viet Cong to win this one. The Allies have superior firepower. The Viet Cong need to take the police station right away before the US mechanized forces and Cobra's come into play.

My sense is that this scenario was designed and optimized for AI play. In my opinion, it is not balanced for PBEM play. The VC player's forces begin the scenario quite some distance from the two objectives. It is critical that the VC player move from his initial starting positions to the objectives as quickly as possible. The US Player has some forces that begin the scenario on the objectives, but the majority of the US forces begin the scenario quite a distance away from the objectives also. The US player is fortunate because his troops are mobile and are mounted in M113 APC's, enabling them to move to the objectives rather quickly. The US players also has a pair of Cobra Gunships that are available to him for most of the scenario. The Cobras are devastatingly effective and are capable of virtually eliminating a full strength VC Squad in 1 turn, two turns tops. The VC player's success hinges on his ability to get to the objectives ASAP before the US player arrives in force and in taking advantage of the cover available around the objectives.

Urban environment in Vietnam makes for a fun fight, even though at least somewhat unbalanced.
Me and General McAulliffe decided to move I Company up on the line. That is, if you agree.

Allied reinforcements can pretty easily break up VC attack unless the attackers are in the right place.
