Pursuit to Barrigada - The Matrix Games version of Rising Sun

Barrigada, 5km E of Agana, Guam: [Best played against Human opponent] At the end of July 1944, American forces were firmly established on Guam and pushing north pursuing a retreating enemy who knew there was no chance of evacuation and was committed to making the price for the liberation of the island as high as possibly. Following the pattern set on Siapan, the Japanese had begun a series of systematic withdrawals that would leave them firmly entrenched in the north, something the Americans were determined to prevent. However, water was in increasing short supply with few sources in the northern part of Guam capable of supplying the needs of the thirsty soldiers. Solving the problem was the mission of the 307th Regimental Combat Team, ordered to secure the small reservoir near Barrigada. Led by light tanks on 2 August, elements of the 1st and 3rd Battalions advanced towards the small village with its liquid prize. Suddenly the GIs found themselves in a desperate firefight with the Japanese 319th Independent Infantry Battalion firing from concealed positions and supported by several tanks of their own.
