[H2H][Hyp-HISB] [EA or not] After the taking of Kiev, von Rundstedt wanted to continue his all forces push Eastward. Without hesitation the panzer forces then thrust to the East, even in the South any forward movement would help Army Group Center's drive on Moscow. For von Rundstedt his vision was Kharkov. To get there he pushed his troops through the muddy plowed Sunflower fields and the soggy roads of Fedorovka. This battle must be fought. Many trooper today, in '41, will return to the fight in 1943. Instead of the Germans advancing to a victory they would be advancing to stop the Russian drive to surround and capture Kharkov. This early war role reversal is a must win for the Germans. The Russians could only try to stop them. The mud may stop them both.

Allies have a decent number of KV-1 and t-34s against pzIIIF and German Panzers do not stand a contest in a direct fight. The main punch against Soviet armor is provided by company of engineers. Once Axis side looses those, the contest is over.
