Gil'dendorf, Ukraine: [Best Played vs Human Opponent]: In the early morning hours of August 22, 1941, Tactical Group "General Dumitriu" (the 25. Infantry Regiment and the 23. Artillery Regiment) with elements of the 13. Infantry Division tries to break through the Odessa main line with the objectives of securing Koreuntsky and the rail facilities south of Gil'dendorf. Unfortunately for the Rumanians, the frontline is strewn with trenches, bunkers and mines. The Maxim machineguns of the waiting 69th and 77th Fortress battalions would create havoc amongst the attacking Rumanians.

A good scenario should offer options for each player. I didn't see any strategy for the axis here. Just move forward, take objectives and kill whatever is in the way. Easy and not much fun. Doubt the allied player can do much to change anything, but who knows?
Resolve then, that on this very ground, with small flags waving and tinny blasts on tiny trumpets, we shall meet the enemy, and not only may he be ours, he may be us. --Walt Kelly
