NW of Velikiye Luki, 230km NW of Smolensk: [Best played against Human opponent] The first German unit to attempt to relieve the battered garrison at Velikiye Luki was General Brandenberger's 8th Panzer Division, which had just abandoned its positions south of Kholm. It was to have been taken to the Stalingrad area by train. However, this laudable intention had to be canceled in view of developments on the division's own doorstep. On the morning of November 28th the 8th Panzer launched an attack from near Gorki on the unsuspecting Soviets of the 18th Tank and 34th Motorized Brigades toward the embattled garrisons at Velikiye Luki and Novosokolniki to secure the vital Vitebsk-Leningrad rail lines.

This is a good battle with many options for each side.
Scorched Earth
Mike played a great game of patience and hide n seek. Great stuff.
Huib Versloot
Weird battlefield layout. Fixed artillery ensuring a low replay value when not played blind anymore. Strangely scattered objectives that seem randomly placed.
Boris the Blade
Map and number of objectives feel too big for the amount of forces involved. Although the amount of maneuver room is appreciated, vast majority of the map/objectives do not come into play.
