Intended for Head-to-Head play

Scenario Briefing: This is the campaign for Leyte island which starts on October 20th and ends at nightfall of December 22nd, 1944. The Allies were looking to establish airfields, a supply base and ports south of Luzon where they could station the aircraft groups of the Fifth Air Force and use the island as a staging area for the next operation which was to retake Luzon. Instead, the Japanese reinforced the island and what could have been a short campaign turned out to be a drawn out two-and-a-half-month affair.

Notes:
1. The US 8th Cavalry Regiment is amphibious so they can conduct a mini-campaign over to Samar Island.

2. The Japanese "Ad Hoc Force" reinforcements enter play three days earlier than their historical date in order to compensate for the lack of a three day halt of operations by the Allied forces due to the Battle of Leyte Gulf disrupting the overall operation.
