Borisov, 75 km NE of Minsk, Jun 29th 1944: The German High Command rushed the 5.Panzer Division to Borisov to try to stop the hordes of Soviet tanks rushing westwards. It was imperative to hold on to the Berezina bridge here, as the remnants of 4th Army were expected to cross it soon. In truth, the Soviets were already over the Berezina and swarming to the north of Borisov. "What If" the Soviets could not bypass Borisov and had to take it frontally? [Size, small] Designer Note: This is a "What If" scenario based loosely on the historical situation. This scenario has been optimized for HTH play.

Tough sledding for the Germans, especially since Russians arrive on the far side of the river, north edge, around turn 10.

214 final score. I had some stragglers take a 100 vp hex on turn 19 for the minor win. Draw level otherwise. German strategy, retreat as fast as possible to river, covering with armor and send a force to the north.

Axis player has to take care of the village of Kholmchina; hex 7-11 a 150 VP hex. They have a 155 man motorcycle recon outfit near there and you pretty much have to occupy that hex to prevent an easy Soviet overrun. Red Partizans can be a problem too. Not an easy task.
