North German Plain, June 23rd 1985, D+ 13: The second Express to leave the NATO station was bound for Herford. It was due to depart in the early hours June 23rd. and was primarily made up of the US 8th Mech Div (reinforced) from CENTAG. It was hoped that by waiting about 15 hours before introducing this new threat the Warsaw Pact would dispatch their reserves to the north.
