129 Co_Waterloo1hist - WDS Campaign Waterloo

This is the version of Waterloo I would recommend playing. The stacking limitations in this company level scenario make it very difficult for the French to just steamroll the Allies as they can in the traditional scenario.

It will be a tough go for a French player, but this was still the most fun I have had playing the Waterloo battle in the 20 or so years I have been playing the Talonsoft and JTS games.

Would definitely play again.

I was allies. Company level fight and very enjoyable and frustrating. Encircled units attacked at 10-1 do not lose. The attacker takes the casualties. If they have an escape route the defender takes the casualties. Always give them room to retreat. Half my forces were held up by these type of road blocks. Other than that I enjoyed it.

French have a clear advantage. Numerous French forces can easily take lightly held Allied objectives. After 23 turns the Hougoumont farm fell to the French with few losses. Moving to flank the allied left, I was surprised when allied reinforcements arrived in the middle of the II Corps flanking. Adjustment of objectives, French have way too many A units, and reinforcement locations would help balance. Thanks
