Poland, 14th November 1914: As the Russian 2nd Army continued its advance to the west towards Silesia, it deployed a screening force consisting of the II Army Corps which was located in the vicinity of Kutno. With the westward advance of the rest of the army, a dangerous gap began to develop between II Army Corps and the rest of 2nd Army. To fill this gap, one brigade of the 3rd Guard Division and the 1st Rifle Brigade were dispatched to the area of Chelmno and Drzewce. However, as the Germans were executing their own offensive towards Lodz, the German XI.Armeekorps attacked towards Dombie with orders to seize the crossroads. As this attack developed, the 1st Rifle Brigade withdrew, leaving the Guard Division to fend for its itself with an open flank. Small scenario that doesn't forgive any mistakes. I gave too much ground too quickly as Russian and together with casualties this brought me defeat. Still it was nice to fight with the Guards this time as they are about equal to German quality and this is rare for the Russians.
