Good scenarios with opportunities for both sides, very infantry centric.

I think the map might be a little pro-Axis, but I'm really ready to call it. It's a very large odd map and the disposition of the defensive positions makes a huge difference in how the game can go down.

Certainly, outside of very very good luck, I don't think it is really possible to take one of the bridgeheads. The other bridgehead involves an unavoidable long slog through the woods cleaning out infantry wherein as far as I can tell the tanks can't follow.

Loved the map and force comp, easily the best cmrt stock scenario I've played.

I've now played this map from both sides. Here is my second opinion.

It's a pretty good map. I still believe it is slightly axis favorable. I like that the game starts with a big axis advantage, then swings such that the soviets can mount a counter attack.

1. I believe that it's fairly easy for the axis to eek out a minor victory, if they play conservatively just using HE shells and their extra mortars to good effect.
2. Russian SMG squads are very powerful on this map.
3. The key to axis victory, I believe, involves shelling the Russian AT guns followed by charging in with the tanks. The terrain makes this quite difficult.
4. The Russians can't hold either of their objectives for very long once the game starts.

Tactically challenging infantry slog in tough terrain. Not particularly exciting.

I thought the scenario could have been interesting if the Russians had better AT capabilities. I also think the Russian player spends to much time in the start of the game getting his troops into place. The German player has a lot of strength, especially with two stugs, which I thought were unstoppable with what was giving to the Russian player. It might work better with no artillery for the German player, and more flexibly with the two AT guns, just a suggestion.

I lost to Expecting at Crossroads whose Russian forces put up an extremely dogged defence. This was certainly challenging as the Germans, although not hugely entertaining. Trying to dislodge Soviet SMG squads from woods dense with energy sapping undergrowth is a huge casualty list waiting to happen. I see from previous reviews that this is certainly winnable as the Axis, but I would be interested to know how this has been achieved by others. Nice looking map though and the scenario is well thought out, but I think the Germans could do with a few more troops and more ammunition .
