Skirmish at Sichenhausen - Combat Mission: Cold War

Nice scenario and nice map but limited available and viable course of action and a bit of an attrition battle.

If playing an opponent, I would suggest that the more experienced player takes the Soviet side.
Nice map and force sizes/composition

the sovite player have a great unbenefit, The oculars of their tank are useless against the US tanks. The only way to get a minimum of success is speed and use the concealment of the area.

I felt that this is a difficult battle for the Russians. They have to come off the high ground to capture the objective, but they have to cross mostly open ground.

As I had limited armour/anti-armour resources, I tried the classic Russian 'mass assault'.... trying to provide too many targets at once, someone must get through approach..... my worthy opponent had his resources in all the right places, so my attack was a complete fail.
