This is a special version of my scenario ‘Contact Front!’, designed to be played by two players.

I’ve changed and tweaked a lot of things to make it work well against a human opponent. It’s been playtested several times, so the balance should be quite good.

About the scenario:

British Recon in force attack VS German Army.
Infantry based, with a bit of mostly light armour.
No air power or artillery.
Terrain: Some light bocage, a small bit of heavy bocage, and lots of open ground. Rolling hills, orchards, and a town.
Commonwealth module required to play.

The British player starts out strong, but in a bad position. He has to advance to take and hold two victory locations while suffering less than 33 pct casualties.

The German player has to prevent this. He starts weak, and will have to use the terrain to his advantage to hold back the British.

Limited German reinforcements will arrive late in the battle, giving the defender a chance for a last-ditch doctrinal counterattack.

Both sides have a decent chance to win if they play their cards right. The map is bigger than it usually is for the size of the forces involved, to give both players more freedom to make their own plan to attack or defend.

Interesting setup / challenge. Slightly easier for the Germans, but no walk in the park either.

Given the terrain, the array of forces on both sides, and the strictness of the British victory conditions, this one seems difficult for the British player to pull off. Nevertheless an interesting and challenging scenario and worth playing.

The Axis player needs to remove their reinforcements for balance.

I played this to play test the unreleased version of the scenario. The released version may be different.

I enjoyed it (As Allies) but,

Restricted allied setup area and similiarly balenced forces despite Allies needing to attack over ground that is difficult for their vehicles to maneuver around.
"But I don't want to see CM's code or any games code. That is like seeing your spouse and your love as hormones and neurons firing in various lobes on PET scans. Some things should just be enjoyed for what they are; and not analyzed any further.

Although they arrive quite late, I don't think the Germans need any reinforcements at all. Good map, good force composition!

The battle its self favours the Germans and the scoring does not compensate for the lopsidedness of the battle.

Allies start with an advantage. Allies have the initiative. Germans are spread thin which is the challenge. What the Allies do, makes the difference. German adaptability to the conditions on the field of battle is necessary.
