HSG EW Into Germany H2H - Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin

21 October 1944, Daken, Prussia. The 3rd Ukrainian Front by passed Warsaw. In doing so they came up against the border of Prussia. Prussians and Germans alike considered Prussia part of Germany proper. The Soviets sldo viewed the Prussians as Germans. On the 20th of October 1944 the 3rd Ukrainian Front advanced into Prussia and took the towns of Nemmersdorf and Goldap. The Germans immediately responded by counterattacking the Soviet advance into Germany. They sent three Panzer Divisions in a classic pincer attack. The Fuhrer Grenadier Brigade is attacking from the area of Kudern on the south shoulder. The plan is to meet in the town of Grosswaltersdorf to cut the Soviet spearhead off and destroy it. It's the first time that Soviet forces have been on German soil. The Germans intend for it to be the last.
