By the night of the 2nd of July 1941, the last Romanian troops have been issued orders for their opening roles in Operation Barbarossa. First order of business for the 1st Armoured Division is the liberation of Bessarabia. Romania and Russia have been fighting an unofficial war over the Bessarabia territory for several months, but not much more then border raids from both sides have taken place. After 22nd of June 1941, the pace has picked up in the area and the Russains seem intent on keeping the ground that they have gained during the squabble. Russian troops have occupied a stretch of land west of the Pruth River, which was the old 1940 border between Russian Bessarabia and Romanian Bessarabia. The Russians now have control west from the Pruth River to the Eski River. There are only a few small villages in the area, with most being farms, and treed areas. The geography is hills to the west, changing to more flat land as you head east to the Pruth River and beyond. You are in command of elements of the Romanian 1st Armoured Division or various Russian units from the 9th Army, including the 2nd Mech. Corps. and 176th Infantry Division. As the Romanians, you will be attacking along the Eski River, securing several crossing points and the bridge in this area. Then push onwards to the village overlooking the main road to the Pruth River. If playing the Russian side, you must defend the crossings and bridge as well as prevent the Romainans from getting control of the flag in the small village. This is the H2H version of a scenario that I attached to a post a while back. There have been a few tweeks here and there for better H2H play.
