Tom and I abandoned the game just shy of mid-point as the Confederates had repulsed the initial Union thrust and having scored points and position, could only lose by making a rash decision to try and force a river crossing against the Union forces. Although a win for the south in game terms, strategically Johnston has not crushed Grant, only checked his movement and inflicted a bloody nose. The engagement was not decisive.
