Berlin 1946 New Revision Complete
Hello Gentlemen:

My best to you all, and many apologies, I've probably contacted no one and missed everyone.
I am a hermit in my basement...stacking hexagons...

But I stacked the Berlin stack all over again, new revision available.
Playable 2v2 or against the AI.
This is your chance to personally end WW2.

If you find yourself bored, with little or nothing to do, give her a look.

It's a nice little fight.
A hypothetical.

Regards,

Dan

ps:  The new files are on the Blitz scenario listing.

Hey John:

I was definitely "building castles" with the map.
When you look at period maps of Berlin late war, all you see are fields of rubble.
I wasn't interested in that fight, we already have Stalingrad, so I spared Berlin and it's architecture for the most part.

If you've been to Berlin, it's definitely a water city, and I made sure to reflect that.

My biggest "liberty" is Berlin doesn't really sit higher than it's immediate surroundings, that one hex elevation shift is a concession to what I believed would occur, which was cleared fields of fire around the outskirts of the city.

And those Hungarians are no slouches!
I enjoyed crafting them.

Regards,

Dan

ps:  I was radar for some time...but ended up sonar...as a bubbleheaded glass eyed twidget...;)

Mr. Zap!

Good to hear from you.
The original version, frankly, wasn't finished.

The reason was self inflicted, in my rush to publish I didn't completely test it.

I can promise you now, after playing it through as the Russians vs. the AI it's better balanced.

As for specific changes, most of it was reducing German strength, especially those outside the city.
Then I moved the length to 60 turns, and gave both southern and northern Russian commanders a final wave of reinforcements starting Turn 40.

The goal here is two fold.

SOLO PLAY
Anyone playing the AI should take the Russians and teach the AI a lesson, ending in a satisfying, if bloody, victory standing on the Chancellery smoking victory cigars.  I don't normally create scenario for solo play vs. the AI but in this case it works really well.  Frankly, it may be the best way to play it.

H2H
It works 2v2, or 2v1 if one guy takes all the Germans.
Like that...it plays conventionally...victory points being what they are...but also doesn't preclude smoking victory cigars should you get to the Reichstag.  You'll earn it...;)

Regards,

Dan
