A couple of FWW maps I'm working on
Since I love making maps, I've been working on a couple for Gallipoli, Chunuk Bair & Hill 60. I've been using a 1:20,000 topo map from 1915 as my overlay. These are still WIP and I hope to create some scenarios for them as well.

Chunuk Bair was the watershed battle of the Gallipoli campaign and was one of the hardest battles NZ troops have ever fought. The fighting here was savage, with the Wellington Battalion losing nearly 700 men. Creating the terrain here was tricky as the difference of altitude between the lowest and highest parts was pretty extreme.

Hill 60 was a battle that was totally unnecessary and a total waste of lives as capturing it would make no difference whatsoever since it was overlooked by other hills. Two attempts were made and failed to get the summit. It basically destroyed the NZ Mounted Rifles Brigade as a fighting force for the rest of the campaign.

Gen. Montgomery: "Your men don't salute much."
Gen. Freyberg: "Well, if you wave at them they'll usually wave back."
