One thing to keep in mind that the CRT for Vietnam has been expanded into a variety of different CRT's for varying weapon classes. 

This will expand to CSME 3.00, of course.

I have been making a few different small mods for CSME.
They include
(1) MapMod
(2) Couple of 2d Unit Picture Mods
(3) Gameplay Mod that changes main.pdt,wepon.pdt and some platoon.oobs

They are somewhat mock ups or works in progress but playable. I feel my MapMod is complete but all the others are a bit of fun/incomplete as I work further on them .They all load using JSME with no problem.

Can I share them here using sendspace for example as a link or do they need to be moderated first?

To see if users may be interested I thought I would introduce my Map Mod for a start.

I am only an amateur and my Mod is just what I thought may make the game a bit different.


map mod
Combined a Board Game look for the non hill terrain by having dots in middle of hexes.
For hills these dots are not present.
Best of both worlds, easy to judge hexes on Hills anyway when using Map Contours.
Wanted an European or maybe African terrain look so I changed main colour from Sand to Khaki.
Also wanted a slightly darker look for when I play of a night since the Sand Colour was too strong contrast for my eyes I felt.
Quite happy with result particularly for zoomed 2d view.
Designed for close in 2d view,5 key, My initial design (8d.bmp) I then scaled and used as an overlay since .bmp dimensions were different to achieve a result for the 6 and 7 key views -which have a slight hex outline now ,did not really want this but it is OK. No hex outline in game options is how I normally play usually at least for Mediterranean Maps in zoomed 2d only (key 5 view).For Desert maps i do use the 6 and 7 zoom levels since the maps are bigger.

Note if you still want Desert Terrain normal Sand Colour but only Khaki for Mediterranean then just delete the Desert Named files.

I do really like my Map Mod ,the vanilla Sand is cool but I wanted something different since I am more used to playing West and East Front themed games and prefer Greener Pastures.


My (3) Gameplay Mod is of my own design and basically adds an Arcadey feel to the game which I like -more fun less realism. I will post this soon - I really like the increased Lethality of combat it offers at low combat ratios.



My (2) Couple of 2d Unit Picture Mods contain elements from Crossroads "Ode to arab israeli wars 2d counter mod" ,some edited ,some vanilla as an Amalgam with my own work. I have a thread here
