It is with great sadness that I am informing you that Robert "Berto" Osterlund has passed away this morning. As the programmer, Berto has been pivotal in the growth of the Campaign Series capabilities and making the Campaign Series games what they are today. Berto and his exceptional expertise will be sorely missed. Our team offers our condolences to his family.

What little I know about the man but as a gracious code
genius.

I had the privilege to receive a reply to a Panzer Battles
concern as he was working on coding for that game system
as well. One smart dude, that guy.

Very sorry to hear this, I had a lot of conversations with Berto both in the WDS forums and zoom meetings when working on the manual updates for the CWB series and play testing work on the updates to the series he worked on.  I found him friendly and his explanations of how things worked and why some others wouldn't work indicated to me he knew his craft. 

My condolences to his family. 
He will be missed.
