In some scenarios, path's are shown in 3D but are not shown in the 2D mode?

Is this a known problem........?

I have AOTR, RV and Eagles Strike.
Looking at AOTR quickly, I can see the following missing trails in 2D but show in 3D.

411203 Burtsevo
420110 Maloyaroslavets
420410 Ramushevo
421128 Belyi
421128 Sychevka
Cust #3

That was a quick look at AOTR. I haven't gone through all scenarios in the three titles I own.
The common theme here so far seems to be that they all are snow terrain scenarios.
I will look a little deeper but I'm sure I've seen this in ES and RV as well.

Can someone confirm this?
