Closing Threads
I was merely trying to point out so many rules often turn people off playing games.  This is a game and will never be a realistic simulation, if you don't believe me post on Shrapnel Games and ask the developers of the game the same question.

Personally at my age I could not care less re my standing on your ladder, but I do like to comment on what I think of the scenario's.

SO JOLLY GOOD LUCK TO YOU.

Gordon cheers

RE: Closing Threads
Just to get some facts correct:
- The thread went off-topic, it was about scoring on the ladder and you did turn it to whining about some optional rules that players can use if they want to and that yo thought are mandatory to play here.

- I doubt the Weasel tries to adjust the ladder to his favor, he just improves it by adding things that the ladder currently lacks. That is no manipulation but merely the attempt to reward the effort that players put into a game by trying to connect the amount of points to the amount of effort the players put into it. I really don't know what the trouble would be if players playing large & long scenarios get more than players playing small & short scenarios.

- Regarding TOAW III, that game is dead because it wasn't patches for about 1 million years despite being seriously hampered by its last patch, so serious that even edited EXE files appeared from the community to solve the problems themselves.
On top of that TOAWIV is in the works, I and surely many others too won't get going again with TOAWIII but will wait for TOAWIV as it promises so much improvement that will almost be like a new game. I'm sure we see much more action onces TOAWIV is out.
The adjusted scoring for larger scenarios wasn't introduced to rally the board to play TOAWIII again but just to reward those that put such a huge effort into playing such long scenarios. Again I don't see any problem by doing that.

Big  Duke 66 you get some facts  right first, l never thought his rules manitory l was just putting another view forward. I don't wing or whine about wargames as l have been playing them all my life.

RE: Closing Threads
Ok guys first off: 1. Ensure ALL writings are kept civil (no personal attacks, swearing, accusations) or you will be banned, just a reminder. I have only banned one person before and that is enough. 2. Other ladders DO score games on size, length and points, it is not something new (CM). 3. I do play short scenarios, just finished one that took 9 days and scored the same points as the previous two that took 4 months each, how is that fair to those players? I don't like that I got 60 points for it but that is the only way to score it right now.

The spirit of the ladder is competition over and above that which the AI can offer, not about how many points you have.

Everyone has been warned.
