New WW2 Campaign

New WW2 Campaign
Dear All,

I am interested in taking over (replacing) Old Rocky's (AWOL) campaign as Admin and Player.

I would like to fight a campaign that pits a Soviet Tank Corps against a German Panzer Div - over 3-4 battles.

I will require a Commander for both sides - I don't mind doing this for the Russians as before.

I was thinking of starting either in May 42 or July 43.

Any thoughts please let me know.

I will contact Weasel to confirm all ok.

Very Best

RE: New WW2 Campaign
My hat is in the ring. Not sure about being a commander but a player for sure. It is supposed to be a cold winter so I don't expect to be riding my motorbike much. SPWW2 is just the thing when there is 2 inches of ice on the ground.
I could help with maps maybe, if you want custom maps.
If we get a vote, I vote '42. '43 is either pre Kursk or post Kursk.
Or maybe a what-if Hitler hadn't waited? Hitler gave up operational tempo to gain a small technological advantage. Germany never got the tempo back and the new kit ended up burning as bright as the old kit.

Cool - a response at last! (LOL).  Where are you that you have 2 inches of ice already...Alaska?  It is a balmy and very sunny late September day in London, perfect for seniors golf!
I was thinking May 42 when both sides are ready to go on the offensive in AGS and neither has any "wunderwaffen".

SP forum really sucks now for tournaments, hardly anyone playing the game so few players for the tournament. Too bad.

I'd be up for being involved, but alas I am far too busy with RL to commit.

A shame as I am sure AM would see it through to the end.

Good luck Simon!

RE: New WW2 Campaign
I think SP is in a negative cycle. The less people play, the less interest. As interest declines, less people play.
Maybe an "Old Timers Tourney"? Go through the ladder and look for long time players that haven't been active lately. Send them an invite.
Change the tourney format? Most tourney's are team play. Thee only limit to format is the imagination.
Fleeing the box at an extreme vector;
Double elimination round robin using custom scenarios. If given a healthy point advantage, the program can play defense. Agree to opponents (nations) then build Assault vs defend scenarios. Agree to a cut off for moving to the next level. Eventually (depending on number of players) two are left. Not sure what happens next, I'm winging it as an example of something different.
I like the idea of using scenarios to build a tourney around. They create common denominator affect.
I figured out to do PBEM scenarios a few years ago.

AM, it's 55 and overcast here. Weather guessers say mid 80 to low 90's by Wed. So it ain't winter yet but one day soon. Around here Spring is about 2 days long and fall a week. The rest of the time it's summer except for a couple of months of winter. April to November is summer. Fall comes a little before thanksgiving then Winter is December to March. One gets used to it.

Wolfie, you want to make some more maps? I'll bet Simon has some Jepp charts in the back of a closet.
