Opponent wanted Alamein'42 1.06
Hi,

I would like to play 0527_01: The Gazala Gallop Campaign (and for the first time at last Helmet Wink) in command of the Axis side (a mirror game is in offer if you want to, I know it is a unbalanced scenario, maybe the winner can be best calculated by adding the points of the two games, also I am a somewhat "experienced" Allied player). 6+ turns per week.

I like the historical and realistic flavor, feeling the heat and the sand for say so Mex Big Grin, we can agree some opt rules and house rules to avoid strange things happen ...

Hi Nestor,

If you have this one free yet, I would like to meet you in the battle. I don´t have that much experience with African battlefield, I only played like three scenarios against human opponent. I mostly play Eastern front, but it´s been some time since I´m looking to finally start to fight in the hot African desert.

I played this scenario once, as Allied, and it really is an unbalanced one, but maybe with including some house rules it could be playable, we can discuss this via email, feel free to contact me at fhilsoad gmail dot com.

Looking forward!

I agree with your comments about balance, I played this scenario from both sides and it is very pro Axis, also with 250 turns available you cannot even try to wear the Axis player down as there is plenty of of time to rest their units.

The other problem is that the mine rules in PzC do not reflect the density of the minefields in this campaign even at a strength 3, as they can be cleared too easily with the abundant engineers that the Axis have.

So an enjoyable scenario, but the Allied player will lose and I cannot really think what set of opt rules might prevent that?

Ok, Fhil PM sent.

By the way I won 4 of 5 (latest one in progress, we are over the 90th turn) Gazala battles against the Axis, one of these outnumbered 3 to 2, or something like that, besieged in Tobruk, my opponent wanted to fight to the bitter end instead of running to Cairo...

Foul, I appreciate your comment. Yes, it is a superb scenario. I´m playing right now as Allied with default rules...

Well that is the most important thing to consider, it can be great fun to just play a scenario and not worry about the result Smile

Oh, this time we have a WWI looking front, casualties range of 1500 to 3000 per turn per side (!), the battle rages for only one day after a three day long sand storm. The results: both armies are being destroyed. To tell the truth I like to play using mobility, tactics, instead that I got a frontal assault and carnage ensued Helmet Rolleyes
