Full 1813 Linking Campaign
In the Leipzig update 1.04 soon to come out is a full 1813 Campaign file that will finally allow owners of both Bautzen and Leipzig to play out the entire 1813 campaign. This is similar to the campaign file "On To Vienna" that was included in Eckmuhl and Wagram. It allows you to play the entire campaign of 1813 and come up with a result after playing through about 8 battles. The name of the campaign in the Campaign Front End dialog is "The Campaign of 1813 - Head to Head." (sorry - no solo version - just too many scenarios to have to create - maybe if I ever retire and have some time ....) The name of the campaign file in the folder is May-Oct-1813-HTH.cpd. This file was also in the Bautzen game. An ORG file is included so that none of the losses from the Spring carry over to the Fall.

The players start the campaign in the Spring. The first battle could be at Lutzen (semi-historical), Altenburg or near Leipzig. After that the players move on to other battles and finally conclude the Spring campaign. Yes, there is a way that the French or Allies can win and not have to play the full Fall campaign out.

At the "Armistice" branch the players will not be given a choice. This basically means that both sides are exhausted, need time to regroup and continue the war into the Fall. The Outcome dialog will inform both players to move the campaign game file (.cpf) into the Leipzig game. No battle is fought at this time.

Once in the Leipzig game those that have played the Fall Campaign will find it to be an exact duplicate of that campaign. Nothing was changed. I simply linked the two large campaign files together.

No, at present this is not an option to play on into 1814 but that could be part of a future update for those of you that have PLENTY of time on your hands! An AAR of that one would take you years to write not to mention play out all of the battles.

But for now you get the full 1813 campaign. I am sorry if the options are not totally exhaustive but I only had so much time to devote to the campaigns. I think that what you get is adequate at least and challenging as well.

Look for the update to come out within the next week. I will give the ok to John to post it and you should see it NLT than a week from Monday unless John has to travel.

Opponent Needed  RE: Full 1813 Linking Campaign
Awesome News!!! I have both titles & have been waiting for a linked campaign between the two titles since Leipzig came out in 2011.

I would also be interested in trying this out w/ a worthy opponent as soon as this comes out, within the next week. I can play 3-4 turns a week. I can play either side and rues can be discussed.
If anyone is interested in this (when the patch is released) Shoot me an email:

Amazinwarrior at Hotmail dot Com

I look forward to meeting you on the ravaged battlefields of 1813!!!!

Regards.

RE: Full 1813 Linking Campaign
You can start the campaign in Bautzen anytime you like as you will not get to the Fall Campaign, where you would need the files for Leipzig, for several scenarios. And actually when Bautzen came out the campaign was in the game and you could have started up the campaign THEN as my plans were always to get the files out into a Leipzig update LONG before the players could finish up the 3 scenarios (or so) that the Spring portion of the campaign offers. Wanted to get these out in February-March but a family illness delayed much of my efforts then.

RE: Full 1813 Linking Campaign
Hi Bill!

Thanks for the information , sir!! I will begin as soon as I can find someone to meet me on the fields of battle during the Spring of 1813. This campaign is specially interesting to me because of the 200th anniversary of all these battles during this year and as we approach the fall of this year Leipzig's 200 anniversary occurs!!

I still await an opponent!! Helmet Rolleyes

Yes, an anniversary that will soon be forgotten as the "Waterloo Deluge" begins in two years. It is a shame that this campaign is not covered better by both text and games. Without Kevin Zucker, George Nafziger and others that have put out games and materials IN ENGLISH on this period those of us that do not read German would never know about these important battles.

Hope you enjoy the games! I still think I must have been slightly nuts to do these titles ... ;)
