But:
6 minute turns depends on the length of a scenario. For short scenario's, lets say 30 - 40 turns (that is 3 to 4 hours), 6-minute turns are defendable. For longer scenario's, it is far from reality to expect platoons running around 'on the double' or even with speed mars for hours and hours and hours and....(etc.). Also in night turns, that happen to occur in longer scenario's (we are dealing with JT CAMPAIGN Series aren't we?), you can't expect platoons to run around continuously with a speed of about 8 km/h (alternating 'normal' and 'increased speed turns' of 3 and 4 hexes respectively in 'clear' terrain under 'normal' weather conditions (non-wet, non-mud, non snow).

By the way, Ed, let us agree to disagree. As long as I see that there might be anyone interested in why and how I deviate from the pre-set rules of the game-system, I will do that and are open to any critic and suggestions as long as it is not 'because they are not conform the book'.

As I have always said and will continue to defend. Everything about the game is set upon it's scale.
Design what you wish. Makes not matter to me. I can play a scenario and see the scale of the game within it. If I cannot I will never play it again and suggest that it is out of scale.
I did not design or develop the game. I am sure that the original designers/developers wanted some things left abstract.
If you do not like the way units move at night then do not design or play night scenarios? Just don't use that as an excuse for designing out of scale ones. Farmer

RE: New Scenarios for JTCS
(05-26-2013, 05:19 PM)Bally Sir,I had downloaded your Overlord Scenario on several times in the past and was updating   and enlarging the map to include all of western France from Mount St Micheal eastward to the town and area around Falise .  My computer was hacked several times and i have lost the download file  I f you would be kind to send me a link so I can down load it again i would appreciate it. Very Respectfully panzer900 Wrote: To Ashcloud,

(the first time I am on this forum; see how it works)
Long time ago I made an "Overlord" scenario (a huge one; from UTAH to SWORD and from landings till EPSOM, about 1200 turns). I have uploaded it to 'The Wargamer's games depot, but it seems not be downloadable anymore I'm afraid. At that time my developer-skill's were less than today.

At the very moment I am constructing a 'total-Normandy' scenario. Map and OOB are 'finished' (if you could ever tell so). I am trying to find out the weather conditions from June 6th til August 24th in order to get variable visibility, variable ground conditions and variable supply conditions. If that is finished, I will set down and put the over 36000 units away in the scenario-editor. This will take a while.

If you are interested (in the mean time) in the old dated OVERLORD scenario, please let me know. (If many others are interested, I think I will upload it to the scenario list) But again, it is outdated just as my "Hell's Highway" and "Hollow Victory" scenario's and should not be played any more IMO.

If you want to have an impression on how those variable conditions mentioned above are working, you might consider to download the WestFront scenario's "NL40 Oost" and "Herbstnebel" and/or the EastFront scenario's "Uranus" and "Koltso" from the scenario list.

Greetings,
