Putting smoke in scenarios ...

Guys,

Am putting together a Pacific War scenario and want to place smoke on the map in the scernario editor mode in order the smoke is already in affect on the opening turn. Is this possible?

Cheers.

I'm not sure 100% but I don't think you can, as a static object, place smoke.

I do know that you can setup an artillery barrage that can lay down smoke. This could occur as the very first event in a turn. I think you can also implement said effect using wrecks... but you'd have to test that.

I really like pacific war - what is your scenario about?

Ironwolf, cheers for the input.

Yeah, I figured that.

I forgot only some SQB titles have rolling barrage, which is what I was after.

Am not really designing a scen, was just toying with editor - it's been a while, as I have been playing a lot of JT's Panzer Campaign and ACW games recently.

I just read you're planning to release some new MODs for SQB and dusted off Proud and Few and Pacific War from my harddrive in readiness.

Looking forward to installing them.

I believe Ironwulf is correct, you can't start a scenario with smoke already deployed. A movement arty strike of smoke would be what you'd want. I'd just make sure you've got enough rounds and allowance to cover the area that you are intending, since arty can have some variability to where it lands...
