Fire/Air Support and Reconnaissance
Does the level of reconnaissance (i.e whether the enemy unit is adjacent to your own, 2 hexes away 'spotted', or 2 or more hexes away unknown) affect fire and air support brought upon it? I know friendly broken units cannot spot. Detached units half fire support value. Indirect fire not "spotted" by a friendly unit is at 1/4 value (under 'fire by map' optional rule).

What about air reconnaissance and counterbattery spotting? They produce an 'unknown' unit marker. These unknowns are not actively spotted (no binos in the corner of the '?' unit card) by a friendly ground formation. Yet, the rules say they've been spotted though there doesn't seem to be any indication. How can you tell if you're firing at 1/4 value or full effect?

Finally, what if a divisional artillery battery fires at another division's (within the same corps) spotted target? Does that have a reduced effect? The way I interpret what the manual does say about all this seems to be incomplete.
