RE: 320mm rocket carrying pioneers
This is an old post but these little buggers just popped their heads up again in a game I am playing so I went online to do some more research. These rockets came in a wooden crate which weighed 174lbs per rocket. The crate was placed on the ground, two little legs extended, a wire run out and then the crew had to hide to fire them from the blast. They were not designed as close support house clearing weapons, but as infantry mobile rocket artillery support.

Thus: they could not be fired from inside a room just like the PzFst cannot be, they are far too heavy to carry, it would take three men to move one of these slowly and without equipment, probably 5 with a full combat load, and they were designed as artillery support.

Why can we find this information but Shrapnel can't? After all the patches this still hasn't been fixed. Amazing.

It appears that 'the thumb is on the scale' where the German OOB is concerned.
There are quite a lot of unfair issues in the OOB that favour the Germans.

I know, and it is sad, try to bring something up at Shrapnel about their 'perfect game' and you get shouted down to no end.

RE: 320mm rocket carrying pioneers
Don't have it installed so are these really pioneer that "carry" these rockets?
Could be a mixup with the weapon slots or the unit itself, the editor is strange.

Most things I reported got done AFAIk so I can't really complain but I guess the guys are more or less tired of it, I was hoping for a quick fix of the Op-Fire Bug and although they fixed it it will only come with the next patch... whenever that one comes out.

RE: 320mm rocket carrying pioneers
Yep, they carry them, ten guys five rockets, and shoot them like a rifle.

Trying to install a pic of it here but I can't, it is the sturmpioneer(flam) that has it, no others seem to so maybe they missed it?

Ah, here we go, I was using quick reply before.

RE: 320mm rocket carrying pioneers
Obviously an error, the (flam) should surely indicate that this unit uses Flammenwerfer like it does but the the Flame rocket in the second slot is surely wrong.
Was that with the latest patch?

RE: 320mm rocket carrying pioneers
It's been there for years.
I remember someone using these to set my entire approach march on fire.
It was brutal. Z-firing way out past LOS using eye-of-god.
To be fair I am sure I used these back in the day too - without having any idea what they actually were.
I'm glad the general consensus now is that they are an abberation in the OOB and should never be used.
Cheers

RE: 320mm rocket carrying pioneers
Well if someone gives me the OOB number and the unit number I will post that and see if I can get an explanation.
