RE: Out 9 Dec 2011 - Roman Civil Wars
I have all but the last title in this series. I've always been impressed with the depth of the game though the 'all' or 'we go' system just hasn't done it for me as much as what a turn based game would.

In saying that there are not too many tactical games around and this really is a good game. So I'm thinking I might just have to dig deep before Christmas.

Can somebody that has played the new game give an objective review. I just can't get enough information from the HPS site which is a bit frustrating. Wish they would at least put some more screen shots up.

I find really interesting and realistic the limited ammnution for light infantry. Light infantry with infinite javelins in their hands has no sense. It´s something totally new for this kind of games.

Thanks!

Just picked up, overall pretty impressed.

?:
Can one create a "civil war" style battle between "nations"? Ie Parthian vs Parthian. If possible I cant figure out how to do so.

3d Graphics: Look good as expected although be nice if the parthian cataphracts didnt use the Hellenistic greek lancers ones....

Attached is a list of the new features and changes since Greek Wars. Most of these changes will be added in to Greek Wars soon. This game takes the series one step closer to reality. :)

The only "civil war" between nations is between the Republican Roman and the Caesarian Roman. You can not fight Parthian against Parthian in this game.
Missing Teuterberg Forest scenario will be posted on this site in the next 2 weeks

What do the symbols on the units mean. For example on a Elephant unit the lower right corner. see the pic below:

The image in the lower right is a shield and tells the player that the unit counts as shielded. this helps in combat and against missile attack. The symbols are explained in the PDF documents 'Getting Started' and 'Rules' manual.
