More v1.05 wishlists
I recently got a new extremely powerful laptop, running Windows 7 and tons of memory. It's so fast that viewing the game at "fast" speed, which has always been my normal choice, has become nearly impossible. It's so fast that I often can't tell if my shot killed an entire platoon, or merely forced a retreat. Returning op fire is instantaneous, like some kind of cruel "Pink Pantherish" joke. Slow speed continues to be just as grueling as it always was.

So, anyway a middle speed or two could be added? It's only going to get worse as people slowly replace their old computers.

Also, I've always wanted the wheel mouse utilized for scrolling in and out, with more than just the four levels of view that exist now. I can control-wheel in and out of just about every program I can think of, but not the game.

Right click options or key-combo right clicks to replace menus would be nice, especially when trying to find chain of command, supply range, etc. So, Control-D-right click, for instance, would bring up a floating "Display" menu and the user could then mouse over to Highlight - Organization, or whatever.

Addressing some of the "utility" areas like the above, IMO, would do quite a bit for modernizing the game without affecting it's playability.

Are any of these doable?

I agree to scud's points and would like to see chosen preferences (bases on, highlight organization and so on) saved so I do not have to make the same choices again after a restart.

MY WISHLIST

1) AIRSTRIKES need more attack power- they are too weak! (defense values are fine)

2) OP FIRE would be better if there were two hard target selections instead of one: [1] Light Hard targets (HT/AC/LtTANKS) and [2] Heavy Hard targets (MED Tanks and up).

:cool2:

Big Grin True I've just done mine and it's either super fast can't see what's going on or so slow it's painful another middle speed setting would good.

RE: More v1.05 wishlists

I like the idea of having two selections of OP fire for hard targets too as long as its possible to select both at times.I would also like to see tanks with turrets not move the entire tank to fire at a unit to its side or rear and risk exposing their rear in a direction not wanted.Maybe in conjunction with the optional rule of armor facing.Would simulate the turret moving and not the tank. Some turretless tanks would still have to move the vehicle to fire.As well some kind of direction command for OP firing would be usefull at times. For example an MG unit watching a certain field of view would only OP fire in that direction.

RE: More v1.05 wishlists

Was watching the military channel and this Sherman tank comander vet was telling a story of running into a heavy German tank destroyer. When his Sherman came under fire he turned the sherman's turret around and gave directions to the driver so they could back out of danger while keeping the front armor to the tank destroyer.Maybe a reverse option for armor units would be nice.

Time for one of my favorite songs...Dream on Dream on

Cheers
