winSPMBT PBEM - Extracting map
We need to modify a PBEM game from advance/delay to assualt/defend. If we cannot modify this PBEM game, we would like to extract the map. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Try copying the save games to the scenerio folder & renaming them to a scenerio > spscnXXX.cmt where XXX is a number say 500.
Now load it into the editor & save the map.
Not sure it works but think I did this once before years ago, easier thing is to get in the habit of saving maps at start of game if it generates one that looks particulary good

Look on the Shrapnel site. IIRC, you can only rename a PBEM file and open it in the Editor if the security is set to low, OR after the game is over. If you don't want to play it out, just hit the End of turn button and then zip and send. If you co-ordinate with your opponent, this can be done in a few hours.
Somewhere Shrapnel has the post on how to do this.

Use the map editor; load the map and use the copy selection function.

We tried this but it failed to load. Thanks for the reply. Happy hunting.

It won't load Chris into Map Editor, we tried this as well. Thanks for the reply. Happy Hunting.

This looks promising. We are using a high secure PBEM game mode. We'll see what happens. Thanks for the reply. Happy hunting.

Im requesting testers in H2H for a new exciting Afghan scenario. Check with my post requesting testers for details.

So, I guess it's not possible to extract maps from full secure PBEM games?

RE: winSPMBT PBEM - Extracting map
Sure you can!

1. open SPMBT/WW2
2. click on EDITOR (not map editor)
3. load scenario
4. select EDIT under MAP (this will take you into map editor)
5. click save (bottom left icon "save map to disk")
6. choose a blank map slot and name the map

NOW - this is for ripping maps from scenarios. As for secure email games, no that cannot be done once the game is underway, but you can save the map when the game is generated at setup:

1. start the battle
2. when you go into the unit deploy screen (has to be from player 1 position) select VIEW MAP which will show you the map and edit functions
3. once again click on the SAVE MAP icon and carry on as above.
