is it possible to make the city and village names shown permanently on the map?

Hold down the Shift key then hit Alt

Hitting the Shift key again will return it to no names showing.

Didn't know that one. I did know that you can also hit Shift and the jump map, and when you quit the jump map the labels will remain.
