Making Scenarios

RE: Making Scenarios
I have a new question regarding naval units such as destroyers. Working on a scenario that has a destroyer in it but when you attempt to plot indirect fire, the targeting mechanism does not show on the map, and worse, the indirect fire does not occur in the next turn.

Was this the intent, am I missing something, or did the designer omit?

This could effect a scenario such as Patton's invasion of Sicily where he received Cruiser support to thwart the Axis counter attack.

I suspect a coding change will be required and that will come with the 1.05 UPDATE.

Any idea when that might be?

After Modern Wars: Volume I is released.

OK, but I have no idea when that might be. Can you give me a "SWAG" and a date?

No date at the moment, mainly because the dates I give are always wrong anyway.

I am hoping relatively soon though, as we (The Beta Brigade and Campaign Series Legion) have been working on this for a far too long now. Although might take a little longer than planned as I am rebuilding the Americans from the platoon file up.

Try using the relevant naval guns as Off-board arty. Works for me

Also check if the destroyer is not a "ghost unit" ie present in the scn file but not (anymore) in the org file.

I second this. When in doubt, fall back to the "classic way" to do things.

And, do you have indirect fire by map clicked off?
Is it only the destroyer that cannot indirect fire?
Does the destroyer appear in your ORG file?

Can you set up a situation within the scenario to have the destroyer direct fire?

It may be a coding issue or it may be an org issue.

Good luck!

cheers
