Awards and Medals
It seems unfortunate to me that since this BB has been updated the awarding of some medals and awards seem to have stopped or at the very least is not maintained very well.

For example Bosiforas has played 191 games on the CS ladder with a .240 win percentage and has never been awarded The Order of the Phoenix-Endurance. He meets the criteria but does not have the medal.

In my case I have 100 games completed on two different ladders and have never received the Centurion Silver Medal.

On the CS ladder alone I have found I have found 15 people who have not received the Order of the Phoenix-Endurance, 2 who have finished 100 games with out the proper award and one who completed his 200th game on March 19, 2010 who has not received that award.

I wonder how many more people deserve some Award or Medal but have never received them.

RE: Awards and Medals
Hi Nick,

Sometimes searching multiple ladders for cross ladder medals can be overlooked.
I just did a ladder dBASE search and for those members who fit the parameters for Endurance. Of those who have one hundred losses only billk1 seems to not have the award.
It might be that Toni or Dave just recently made the awards to others? But, unfortunate and 15 members I cannot find. :chin:

Here is the rule governing the award:

Order of the Phoenix - Endurance - Awarded for courage and endurance in the face of adversity. Must lose 100 games on a Ladder and have a less than .500 winning percentage to qualify for this award. Awarded by the Ladder or Club Commander.

Some members used to think it was written as one hundred games and a less than .500 win/loss. But, it is one hundred losses on a single ladder with a win/loss under .500.

Maybe you could help out the Ladder Commanders and point out the specific members who have not received a much deserved award? :smoke:

cheers

RE: Awards and Medals
I have to admit I've been remiss in both the Endurance medal and the multi-ladder centurians. Frankly, the multi-ladder one is going to be time consuming, unless there's an easier way to do it then I'm thinking of at the moment.

By all means let us know when we've missed something, though.

As for you Centurion Silver, Nick, I hope I didn't stick you with the pin when I awarded it to you just now. Congrats!!

I'll try to look into the other issues this weekend.

cheers
Dave

I probably messed that up as I think I was just looking for 100 games. Sorry about that.

I looked again and the only player who I can find without the proper medal is Secutor he has 101 games played.

I am sure that I saw someone with 200 games but no medal but I can not find him now so I guess I was mistaken.

Thanks for your quick response.

I'm sure a private message or e-mail to the Ladder Commanders would be helpful? :chin:

With the loss of the club overall ladder checking on cross ladder awards became a tough thing to do? :eek1:Whip

RE: Awards and Medals
There actually weren't nerely as many as we expected. We did, however, discover some "holes" from way back. Guys who were missing an early centurion, for instance. Not sure if that was a human error or a blip in moving the site.

I still need to look for "Endurance" winners, but I suspect the recipients won't mind a further slight delay, if there are any.

Please let Toni or me know if you're in line for a medal and haven't received, or if you know of someone you play.

Please, also, accept our apologies for the lapse. We'll try to stay on top of it from now on.

Thanks,
Dave
