JTCS vs. Expansion disk 1.
Hello Blitz folks,

Somewhere I thought I read a while back that the scenarios given in Expansion disk 1 for EFII were not compatible with JTCS??!

If I'm dreaming tell me to wake up and have a cup of coffee!

If I'm not dreaming can anyone thell me why they are not compatible?! I assume loosely at this point it has something to do with unit coding but I'm not sure as I'm not a frontline computer guru.

There were some good ones there in Expansion 1 like Bake to the Rescue and Boxberg to name a couple that need to be converted to JTCS. Is this possible?

Thanks

See if some of them are in the download section (Talonsoft version) & see what happens.

Good question. Jason will know.

Doesn't appear so BD.

Everytime I hit the download for these two scenarios I get an error that the file can't open.

Thanks

Mainly because they use different platoon##.obx files, which are not compatible.

I am updating my scenarios to release with the 1.05 or 1.06 UPDATE.

Anyone with enough time, could also manually "copy" these in the current version. I assume the maps are compatible, so you just have to remake the org and the scn file. The scn description can also be copied. It's a bit of work but I'm sure it doesn't take more than a day per scenario.

Thanks Jason and Huib,

I may get to work on one or two of these Expansion Disk scenarios to see how it converts in JTCS.

I'm assuming the maps would be OK as I haven't seen any map issues when crossing the systems EF;EFII; EFFotR and JTCS.

Yep, shouldn't be a problem.

Depending on the scenario, it might open without issues.

Otherwise, it is merely a matter of rebuilding the ORG file, then remaking the scenario file.

Of course, there is a method of adjusting the files manually, but is extremely time consuming and has potential to add a lot of errors if done in haste.
