RE: Men Needed for testing
Hopefully the forum comments of others will not stop anyone from play testing my scenarios?
How am I supposed to get to be a better designer without your input? ;)

RE: Men Needed for testing
Be aware, there is a slight glitch in "**Pferd und Schmetterling".
Seems that a Russian engineer unit comes in as a German reinforcement, riding German horses. Eek Sneaky little bugger.
I thought I had it fixed and will fix it permanently, when I make all updates based on player comments. It does not effect the overall scenario play, though it can be funny when they dismount. :kill:

cheers

RE: Men Needed for testing
Lol! I noticed that on the reinforcements log - a "guards" unit with some cavalry.

Perhaps he's a a prisoner, being taken back to headquarters, and a dismount is his means of escape?

I'll be sure to have the horses carry to little b@stard into the middle of a ring of my own troops and then assault... Big Grin :whis:

Hi Ed,

Otlig & I are starting "**Pferd und Schmetterling"

If the engineer unit is destroyed I assume the German gets the credit (points) for unit destroyed, correct??

RE: Men Needed for testing
Jack,
Yes. We had one situation where the player did not check who was on the horse. He dismounted in the middle of a group of German units and was blasted to death in opt fire.
Most are just trotting him off the map.
The crazy thing is that this happened before. I reset and everything was fine. Then it "came back".
It does not influence the entire scenario so I can make it part of any updates that I will make in the future. I will do a full remake of the scenario, if it is found worthy, so the glitch should not be a problem.

Thanks!

cheers

RE: Men Needed for testing
Ed, Rick and I are enjoying the scenario "Pferd und Shmetterling." I love the map, too. I'm playing the axis.

I wanted to mention that possibly an officer and maybe a battalion HQ are not inserted into the oob properly - one motorized HQ is never low ammo the turn after he moves, and when I select him, no other units highlight. The officer in question may simply not have his subordinate units on the map yet, we'll see - again, no subordinate units highlight. We're on turn 4 or thereabouts.

The HQ for the stug force highlights only about 1/3 of the stugs. Just a heads up on that - maybe there is a reinforcement HQ on the way?

Looks like Jason (or someone) has increased the attack strength of the Russian AT platoons - one actually reduced one of my Stug III's vs. it's frontal armor - I like that those weak units have finally been given an actual useful attack strength.

And having the ability to start a scenario with enemy units in their transports...hmm, this could be a good premise for a scenario, maybe an "escort the enemy prisoners" or something to that effect. Big Grin

I'll check back again after another several turns.

RE: Men Needed for testing
LOL! John.
I thought about writing in to the description that a Russian Engineer platoon sneaked in and stole German cav horses.
But, I'd rather fix it when all updates and fixes are to be done before (and if) there is a final playtest to pass H2H. :)
Thanks for you comments. I absorb all that is said! :smoke:

cheers
