Back after almost a year - with a question
Gents,

it's been almost a year now since i've visited the Blitz and i'm very happy to rejoin the ranks today.

Good to see you all keeping the hobby and this site alive.

I began playing some of the scenarios of DF '85 and noticed a very steep incline of some of the unit values when compared to FG and NGP. Especially the AP potential seems to be boosted very much, leading to very high casualty rates. Can anyone put me in the know why that has been done?

Thanks in advance and cheers to all,
Jan

Hi Jan,

Welcome back!

Can you point out some specific units you are seeing this with? I tested on both NGP and DF, and don't recall any major changes in values, outside of some helo tweaks that I think are documented with DF. It may be that you are playing with Volcano's add on, which does have AP ratings in particular that are more than double most of the tank rating at the least.

So that is my suspicion, you are looking at the VM ratings and they are much much higher, but if you could point out a specific case if you don't think that is it, then we can look at it.

It's the VM ad-on, alright. Never thought of that. Thanks for clearing it up.

By the way, i'm very content with the way the new rules for helos take a lot of the cheesy manoeuvering out of the game. Really makes for a better gaming experience.

Happy wargaming,
Jan
